I
am a passionate photographer who started out as a teenager
doing nature photography, in particular birds and macro
work. I have broadened my photographic experience in
the last ten years to include many other genres, including
but not limited to travel photography, people photography
and photojournalism to name a few.
I am a past President of Dooleys Camera Club at Lidcombe
and have a significant involvement in the camera club
scene in New South Wales, Australia. Spotlight on Asia
commenced operation in 2006, specialising in travel
photography as well as designing, arranging and leading
small group photographic tours to Vietnam and Cambodia.
Due to demand, I will soon be expanding to other countries,
including but not limited to China, Laos and Thailand.
I
conduct educational and inspirational photographic talks
at various photographic clubs in Australia and love
to share the knowledge I have gained over the years.
I am selfless in my passion for photography and gain
more satisfaction out of inspiring people and teaching
people than winning awards. This is not to say that
I have not tried my hand at photographic competitions.
My photography has won prizes as well as gold,
silver and bronze medals, however I prefer to spend
my photographic endeavours bringing knowledge and experience
to others and more importantly sharing experiences with
them. It was this, the sharing of photography with others,
that led me to start photographic tours.
I enjoy taking photographs and extending myself wherever
possible. I believe that photography is a cycle of continuous
improvement from a technical, hardware and creative
perspective and as such I look forward to growing for
many years to come.
